I'm building a SaaS system for firefighters – ospanel.pl 🚒🔥
For quite some time now, I’ve been working on a project that’s especially close to my heart – ospanel.pl, a SaaS-based ERP system designed specifically with Volunteer Fire Departments in mind. As a firefighter myself, I know how time-consuming and frustrating it can be to manage documentation, schedules, or equipment records – that’s why I created a tool that genuinely makes everyday work in VFDs easier.What is ospanel.pl?
It’s a modern web application operating in the Software as a Service (SaaS) model, which supports comprehensive management of a Volunteer Fire Department unit. The system is accessible directly from a browser – both on desktop and mobile – which allows for full functionality whether you're at the station, in the field, or on the way back from a call.
Nearly 300 units across Poland are already using the system, and that number continues to grow. The system is fully functional, stable, and under active development.
Key features of the system:
✅ Rescue and firefighting documentation – quickly enter action data and generate ready-made reports.
✅ MDP and DDP records – manage members of the Youth and Children’s Fire Brigades.
✅ Schedule management – reminders for medical check-ups, equipment inspections, and vehicle maintenance.
✅ Personnel module – a full database of members, roles, ranks, and training records.
✅ Equipment and vehicles – inventory management, location tracking (e.g., compartment assignments), and technical statuses.
✅ Integrated payments – pay your subscription online, directly from the dashboard.
✅ Data security – regular backups, SSL certificates, and secure access with permission control.

What’s next: a mobile app 📱
The next step in the system’s development is a native mobile app for Android and iOS. Its goal is to further streamline workflows – starting from the moment a call comes in.
Thanks to this:
🚒 The commander will be able to confirm firefighter attendance during the return trip, and just complete start/end times once back at the station.
📦 Vehicles equipped with tablets will be able to quickly locate specific equipment – like which compartment it’s in – provided that data has been previously entered into the system.
📊 All of this helps shorten response times and cut down on paperwork.
Why am I doing this?
Combining my passion for programming with the experience of being a volunteer firefighter gives me a unique perspective. I’m building ospanel.pl with real-world application in mind, focused on practical needs and saving time – for us, the responders.
What’s next?
The system is already live and being used across Poland. I’m continuing to expand it, listening to feedback from units, working on new modules, a mobile version, and additional automations. All so we can spend less time on paperwork – and more on what really matters.
